Ever had that one cup of coffee that set the right pace to start a morning? It’s important how one begins their day. Establishing that perfect morning routine that could include activities like meditation, exercise can help start a day with a clear mind, full of positive energy. The initial boost can enhance one’s productivity and mood throughout the day.
It’s also important to remember that the words we speak to ourselves are powerful. And, in early recovery (and you don’t have to be in recovery by the way.) positive affirmations and kind words can help build one’s self esteem and resilience for a very productive day. Just the same as negative self-talk can undermine your confidence and it creates a negative cycle. So, why bother with talking down to ourselves, when we can build ourselves up?
If you are a reader of books, the things we read have an impact on our minds also. Books, articles, documents, the written word is a gateway to new perspectives and knowledge. Reading expands our horizons, stimulates our imagination, and provides valuable insights. Regardless of if it’s fiction. It can transport one into another world. Non-fiction educates and inspires. So, the things we read shape our thoughts and affect our attitudes.
The media we entertain ourselves with influences our thoughts and emotions. Same as reading they can entertain, educate and influence our thoughts and emotions regarding our mental state.
And it’s true when they say be mindful of the company we keep. Because they play a crucial role in our lives. So, it would make sense to surround ourselves with supportive, positive individuals who would encourage growth and positivity. Supporting us through the hard times, along with celebrating with us through the good. And toxic relationships can and will drain our energy, and just hinder us on our journey in recovery, and in life in general. So, it’s crucial that we are selective about who we let into our lives. Because regardless of the reasonings why, if they aren’t good for our mental, physical, emotional health or lifestyle. We don’t need them.
And remember that energy is always contagious. And negative energy can affect a whole other zone affecting our lives daily. So, it’s better to attract and keep and protect positive energy.
