…off to the unknown, becomes unknown…

It’s very important to me to have an open mind. To have an optimistic view on life after being through some trauma is huge. And to be open and willing to new relationships (romantic or such) with the adventurous mindset of ‘seeing where this thing goes’, allows entering said relationship, without rigid expectations. This allows things to develop naturally over time. But naturally, there are defiantly benefits and drawbacks to this idea.

Being open and just going with the flow alleviates the pressure of predefined outcomes. Couples can enjoy the present moment without the stress of meeting milestones or expectations. This gives way to natural growth. If the connection is genuine, the relationship can evolve. And it does bring a deeper understanding and appreciation towards each other, I think, anyway.

And regarding relationships where both individuals that been hurt. This approach provides a safe space for healing. Giving both sides the opportunity to build trust and give no expectation of fear of immediate commitment.

There are some drawbacks to ‘Let’s see where this goes’ mindset. There’s ambiguity and uncertainty of course. This lack of clear direction could leave both in confusion and insecurity. The fear of the unknown is always present. And not everyone can handle not knowing where they stand. Then there is a potential for misalignment.  Naturally, if one partner is more invested than the other, it creates an imbalance. This gives way to feelings of being led on or an unreciprocated emotional investment. And there is always the risk of prolonging indecision. Without clear goals, a relationship could go stagnant. The important conversations about the future maybe delayed or not even become a topic of conversation, thus leading to prolonged uncertainty…?

SO, off to the unknown, becomes unknown…and well…neither one will choose to go there and that’s the end of that…

Sincerely,

—The Unknown.

So, the need to have an open mind is necessary.  An open mind allows individuals to adapt to changing circumstances and new information. It’s crucial in navigating the complexities of a relationship that has experienced hurt. This also encourages empathy. It gives space where both partners can understand the other perspectives and experiences, which is vital for healing and growth. This challenges individuals to confront their fears, insecurities, and expectations, leading to a deeper understanding of each other and gives way to bloom emotional maturity.
